fandom_wank got it's first good dose of the crazy of the K-pop fangirls? If not the crazy is still here, and still quite frightening to read. But it looks like there's another great wrong that is pissing off fans of several fan clubs of the Korean boy groups. This is namely a new girl group called SNSD or Girls Generation. Apparently fans don't think the girls of this group, and one in particular, Tiffany, are respectful enough of the boy bands and are 'making fun of' them. Here's a good write up that summarizes things by an angry fan, as everything else are a nice shade of tl:dr.
There are several accounts of the going ons of the 2008 Dream Concert, which was a concert that many of Korea's boy and girl groups performed at to promote national patriotism, ironically enough. The concert was ill-prepared for the crowd size they had, they expected 35,000 and 50,000 fans showed up, which did not help things at all as the concert progressed. There was mass shunning of SNSD as everyone that was not in the SNSD fan club turned their light sticks off (which at an Asian pop concert everybody has) during their performance and then preceded to boo and heckle the group. After that there are several reports of violence between the fan clubs were people claim to have been assaulted and banners made for the artists performing were torn during the concert.
This journal entry has a complete run down of what occurred, but the tl;dr and angry fangirl-ism is a bit daunting. But she gets to invoke Snacky's Law with:
This was done because of SNSD, why? Because these girls ARE rookies, they have NO respect for their sunbaes (seniors) they just jump around like their the popular girls in high school. And seriously, does the movie “mean Girls” not pop up when you think of a reality show in their dorms?
Of course according to her report the SNSD fan club, which seems to made up of mostly guys going by the reported accounts, acted violently against members of other fan clubs and to quote "According to fan accounts, other fan lclub members were beaten up by SNSD fanboys - some had their hair ripped out, raped, stabbed with a knife and had broken legs, and were taken to the hospital."
In another journal someone tries to rationalize that all the fighting between the fan clubs is a way that young people in Korea are releasing their pent up anger and frustration about the current political situation in Korea. And rounds it all out to blame the U.S. for wanting to export beef to Korea. Followed by a tangent about all that's going wrong in the world and ending by saying SNSD fans are just ignorant of how terrible the group is and don't know any better.
There are some blogs from SNSD fans and their take on the whole ordeal. Here is one that just doesn't repost information from every other blog about the incident.

05:47pm - Wank not involving companions? Does not compute.Veteran Doctor Who wanker Kate Orman (Kate Orman) (aka lj user seeingred) is no fan of anonymous memes. Finding she was not not at all loved at the anonymous doctor who livejournal community - who_anon - Ms. Orman urged the meme's creator lolcoholic to shut the meme down.
But months later, Kate curiously starts her own anon community, which *surprise* attracts negative responses. ihasawall was up for zero point five seconds, so the amount of actual abuse is uncertain. But, not surprisingly, Kate continues the wank here at her macro community (ihasatardis) where she can log IP addresses, delete comments, and ban people.
Naturally, some readers are butthurt. Others are confused. Was there abuse? Who dares disparage the house of Orman? Luckily, readers repost examples of the hateful comments, such as the companion's identity is not a spoiler twelve episodes into the show. Kate and various minions respond with "oh my poor unspoiled eyes" and "I luff Kate."
The who_anon anonymice continue to not love Kate and are sad to have missed the opportunity to slag her at the dearly departed community.

09:02pm - Something rotten in Furville.Pogoroo is a furry artist. This afternoon, there was an entry posted to his FurAffinity journal proclaiming his death on the 19th of June by a drunk driver. It was posted by his long distance girlfriend GhostlyDingo, who says that Pogoroo's mother called her shortly after the incident to advise her of what had happened. Due to grief, GhostlyDingo says she's been staying off the internet and this is why she did not make an announcement until now. (ETA: Original entry had been BAHLEETED, but someone posted a copy on their website which I've inserted.)
At first, there is much grieving. As expected people give their condolences. Then along comes the first shred of doubt by thefurwithoutaname, asking for proof. This irritates folks some, and admittedly thefurwithoutaname is not exactly the most polite person with his replies. It's pointed out that nobody seems to be able to locate any obituary online for Pogoroo, in spite of the death being almost two weeks ago.
The plot thickens further when it's pointed out that just a week ago, a post was made in Pogoroo's journal by another friend claiming he is without a computer for awhile. The most interesting part of the post was the mention that everyone that had purchased a commission from him will be fully refunded upon his return. After this journal is pointed out, it and all the previous journals (save for the death notice) are mysteriously deleted.
Some of the choicest comments in the thread are from Straitfox, a fellow with a 'fursona' of a criminally insane fox in a straight jacket known for doing his share of wanking:
"Oh i'm a nice person but I thin kyou have that backwards....I do not want to talk to you, YOu do not seem to be a person I can trust and ge along with so fuck that on your conscience you stupid TROLL!
OWNED! BOOYAH!"
Saving caps of the journal now, because I don't think it's long for this world either.
ETA: Also, something I just noted on my own. GhostlyDingo made a journal post about a week back complaining about people who beg her for free art. Kind of an odd thing to focus on when your boyfriend just died.
ETA II: Oh hey, and she also posted a week ago about commissioning her for fursuits, and to contact she or Pogoroo for concept art! Sheeesh. This has been a pretty messily faked death.
ETA III: Comment just recently left by Rhari (bolding mine): "Yeah I'm in now. Pogo, this is low. I hope wherever you move to, you can find new friends.
Also, Ghostlydingo's Husband contcted me today askin why she's so sad. Apparently he didn't know her internet boyfriend is le dead."
After this comment, GhostlyDingo is now starting to claim she's possibly been duped as well: "Remember when I said If anything was wrong with this it was that he got some other lady to call me and say that? Do you think maybe thats it?" Also she is claiming that the aforementioned husband is on his way to being her EX and that they still live in the same house.
ETA the last (?): All journals have been deleted, and the PogoRoo account has been banned by the mods while they investigate the situation. They did mention they found it linked to five other accounts, but they aren't mentioning which.
There was a second journal posted on PogoRoo's account after the first was deleted (and it was archived before it was also deleted), but since it supposedly contains the undead's phone number I won't be linking to it. I will however, give a summary: GhostlyDingo proclaims she has clearly also been duped, and that PogoRoo must have gotten some lady to call her pretending to be his mother. A couple folks buy it, but soon it's pointed out that it still doesn't explain the journal GhostlyDingo had written a few days after she would have thought he was dead advising people to contact EITHER of them for concept art for fursuits. At this time, the commentors notice that GhostlyDingo's account was only just created on the 12th of the month. It's suggested that GhostlyDingo IS PogoRoo, and he is attempting to escape his debts. To make his story more credible, he likely pretended to be GhostlyDingo's husband as well, asking Rhari why she was upset so that once folks got suspicious she could act as if she were duped as well. After this proclamation, there is no more commentary from GhostlyDingo.
NO WAIT MOAR ETA: The mods at FA have spoken to PogoRoo's former roomate. He confirmed PogoRoo moved out on the 22nd and that he's never heard of GhostlyDingo before.
WheelieMachine sums up the whole thing quite well: "What a shitty deal... first you die, then you're kicked out of your own parents' house.
Talk about insult to injury!"

01:08pm - The Doctor is watching you.I knew with the season finale there would new Doctor Who wank popping up and I was not disappointed. It's more on the mild side but it could be a warm up to the things to come as the second half of the finale airs this weekend.

Over at
doctorwho the mod thehornedgod makes a mod post asking everyone not to say anything or even use an icon that insults any of the Doctor's companions as they are all special people. What the mod fails to do in his 'all companions are special so leave them alone' is actually give proper guidelines to what 'bashing' consists of. But he does leave instructions to have people contact him if they see anyone bashing, in text or via icon, a character. And with that gross lack of information and the fact the mods are asking people to snitch on others, the wank explodes.Be warned, there's some unfunny business in the first comment thread that should be skipped. The rest of the comments thankfully are more on the lines of 'why can't I say I dislike a character' and 'OMG the mod is being so mean'.
thehornedgod does clarify that people can discuss why they dislike a character but only if they give proper, well thought out reasons to why. Unfortunately that's all in the comments not the actual post, as the mods think people should just automatically understand where the line is instead of actually explaining the rules they've set.There are also several people that wonder why people are getting so defensive about what people say about fictional characters, which the mod defensively snaps at telling them that if they don't like the rules, GTFO.
Eventually in the comments there are some mentions to what set the mods off.
We even have one of the quickest Godwin's I've ever seen in the comments.

You will need
1 greased
ohnotheydidnt1 ship-based MS Paint macro (Do not credit the macro! This is very important!)
3 cups
inksplotched1/2 teaspoon grudge (optional)
2 heaping tablespoons
bazcat89a pinch of CAPSLOCK
sparkles to taste
1. In a large bowl, add inksplotched to the macro in 1/2-cup increments, beating on high speed until stiff peaks form.
2. In another bowl, combine grudge, bazcat89, and CAPSLOCK and stir until mixed thoroughly.
3. Fold grudge-bazcat89-CAPSLOCK mixture into macro-inksplotched meringue.
4. Spread over ohnotheydidnt and top with sparkles.
5. Bake at 400 degrees for 3 days until edges are crusty.
6. Serve with your favorite alcoholic beverage and a large sprig of mockery.
*You may store Twilight Sparkle Surprise in your freezer up to 3 months.
**CAUTION: if you share your thoughts on fandom near Twilight Sparkle Surprise, it will turn out bitter and inedible and all the hungry wankas will eat you instead!

10:07am - Cuz German Gay Soap Operas R Srz BsnzJust when I think I've seen just about everything wanked there comes Gay German Soap Opera wank. Credit for writing the report goes to the Anonymouse over at
wank_report. All I did was fix the html as there really was nothing to add.Once upon a time in fall 2007 there was a German soap opera named AWZ (Alles Was Zählt) with hot gay kissing. So the blog romanunddeniz.blogspot.com was created to post youtube clips and spoilers for people to squee about.
All was well.
Except then hot boy 1 starts declaring his love for some chick and dicking around behind boy 2's back. The fans are stunned. Denial. Anger. Depression.
Just as hot boy 1 is stepping out on hot boy 2, a second German soap named VL (Verbotene Liebe) pops up and also features hot boy kissing. People bring up those two guys from As The World Turns and Hollyoakes. People are curious how gay storylines are being handled all over the world. And so romanunddeniz.blogspot.com turns into gaydaytime.blogspot.com where clips from gay storylines in daytime and primetime are posted and everybody lives together peacefully, right?
WRONG.
The VL storyline gets linked in a couple of places, it has subtitles and some people are really feeling it. The fans of AWZ feel neglected. They complain that blog owner Wolfi doesn't appreciate the subtle humor and superior writing of AWZ when he complains that a soap doing a storyline on a killer virus is stupid. And why or why don't people acknownledge that AWZ is clearly the vastly superior German soap opera featuring two guys swapping spit? (notice user chrisms and gabi, they are gonna show up again)
So Wolfi makes a main post defending his decision and his right to think killer virus storylines are stupid. He expresses his anguish over the good old AWZ days when they were all so happy together and his sadness that when his blog featured a poll asking people that if they could cancel a soap from the gay daytime lineup people picked AWZ rather than As The World Turns as he expected.
The AWZ fans go quiet for a while.
Except then suddenly things start looking up for AWZ. The female love interests disappears. Hot boy 1 starts taking cocaine and dryhumping hot boy 2. Some people are feeling it, some don't. chrisms complains that people don't see that the VL storyline is badbadbadwrong.
The next AWZ clip gets posted and chrisms complains that not everybody thinks that having sex with your ex-boyfriend while he is on drugs is stuff we all would do when we are in love. Some people call boy 2 a whiner. chrisms and anonymous accuse each other of having wrong expectations of the soap genre.
The next clip gets posted and chrisms tells people how they really feel about VL storyline, about people not appreciating the sublime beauty of the AWZ story and how they gleefully wait for the day when VL goes down in smokes.
Anonymous (that makes the wank suck a bit, most VL fans tend to use anonymous, in the squee posts too) steps in and says that "asshole fans" like chrisms are keeping them from having sympathy for the story.
Chrisms friend Gabi steps in and calls anonymous on being an anonymous and calling chrism an asshole. Anonymous comes back and defends their decision to call chrisms an asshole and proceed to praise apparently without irony how much less petty they are than the AWZ fans. People award points to gabi. Other anonymous steps in and indicates that chrisms a hypocrite for complaining about the level of discussion the blog is compared against their statements about the level of intelligence of the VL fans.

It stared off with the usual batch of hate secrets which no one really looks twice at anymore, but then things heated up when
inksplotched made an disgustingly attention whoring announcement of her departure from the fandom and her crony __dittany followed her shortly. The anons did not approve.
As if that wasn't obnoxious enough, they two of them proceeded to STICK AROUND and wank even harder at various anons.
But that is not all. She was then echoed by
fallenmelody in her spazzy announcement. Some of
inksplotched's cronies jumped into the wank and made total asses of themselves, as can be seen in the comments I linked to.ETA: Many of the secrets occurred because of now deleted wank which took place in
sortofbeautiful when aromarcuscaius created the community realtw_secret. This community annoucement set off a bucket-load of wank when anons starting going off on the ontd_twilight mods for what may or may not be accurate accusations of assholery and god-modding.ETA 2: Please see secrets number 9, 43, and 50 to see what started her off on her diatribe (#50 refers to a friendship community she apparently runs with her friends).
ETA 3: And also note the explosion of
ontd_twatlight. They seem to be twatting all over the secrets, in the anons, and have several long comment threads (foutu aka the shining star/twat/anus of the Twilight fandom also made an appearance.)

02:41pmThis one's a big one that spans over three communities, so be sure to grab something to eat before you sit down to read this. Also, I couldn't find a specific DAY, but one of the wankers involved listed their birth year as 1990, meaning she would be 18 if she were born on-or-before today's date. I'll delete this if I find out that her birthday is later in the year, but for now I'll post this.
It all starts out on the community rp secrets. This community is just like fandom secrets, except it's for secrets about RPing. For the last couple weeks, rp secrets has been getting secrets about an rp called Discedo. There's so many of them that I can't even link them all without taking up pages and pages, but here's a few examples: cliques, defending the place, more complaining, and complaining about a specific character. Pay attention to that last one, because it'll come up again later.
Mods of Discedo see these secrets, and they make a 'put your complaints here' post. The comments were screened, so that only the mods could see. Two days later they made this post, in which they name the problems that have been brought up to them. Overall there's a couple small kerfluffles, but overall nothing too big here. However, make note of the character journal too_green_eyes. The profile I linked to should look familiar, too. Now, I will be direct in all of this. There is a LOT of discussion going on in all of this, but the important parts to watch are the ones involving leadership. See, before now a couple characters have been 'leading' all of Discedo, and many people are unhappy with that. They want to break up the responsibilities among many. So there's a lot of talk about how to do that, and who should do what.
( But it doesn't stop there. )

This is a small bit of slightly stale wank that I found in two communities for the price of one!
Princess Destiny bemoans to both
fanficrants and marysues about a Sailor Moon fanfic titled The Great Matter written by papirini."WTF?! Since when are Sailor Senshi Tentacle Monsters?"
I found this on dotmoon.net the traumatized princess begins before posting the mark-up for a character, who doesn't even seem to be Mary Sueish other than having their species be a tentacle monster.
Over on fanficrants she proceeds to berate the author with "What were you thinking when you wrote this piece of godawful tripe." and "Thanks a lot for making my brain hurt, if you want to make a big deal out of my ranting I'll be scrubbing my brain."
Commenters are confused as to how the fic was bad and how the character in question is even a Sue other than being a tentacle monster.
The author of said fic also comes up and humorously writes "I AM HIGHLY OFFENDED THAT SOMEONE DOESN'T LIKE MY FANFIC TENTACLE SAILOR AND I WILL NOW PROCEED TO SLIT MY WRISTS."
Small, morsel-sized, but funny.

07:32am - FEDCON USA: Making Flanvention look GoodFedcon USA has set a new bar for convention self destruction stupidity. Cancelling events in the middle of Saturday afternoon!
For convience here's a timeline of ill omens that lead up to yesterday's Britney Spears moment.
FEDCON GMBH a German group that puts on Trek Cons in Europe decides to work with Tim Brazeal at Trek United
Wait! The same Trek United that was supposed to be raising funds for another season of Enterprise? Yep the very same...
Despite this, everything seems to be going along fine, they even have Jonathan Frakes on as their headliner. Actually, No
Well, they'll have Adam Baldwin! Ummm...
This,and several other line up changes start making some of the forum members thinking something hinky is going on. Barbra, one of the Volunteers, even goes to say theres no conspiracy going on here.
A few days before the event they announce Aaron Douglas (Cheif Tyrol from New BSG) is joining the show! Only Aaron can't seem to get any of the organizers to get him his plane tickets Tom, the Security Chief, is playing damage control trying to keep everyting calm on the boards, but it's already getting out of hand. A very pissed off Aaron Douglas returns calling out the organizers on their lies. Tim Brazeal finally shows up with several half assed explinations Over the next few pages. Including the fact that he has back problems witch will all too conviently put him in the hospital for the next 24 hours! Aaron doesn't buy it. And the echange just gets more heated as things go on.
The con finally arrives, and the first day is small but fun for those who attend (most estimates put the number in the 200 range, far below their thousand or so they were hoping for) All of the Gold Ticket holders are thinking they are getting the shaft for putting up all that money before and and getting no real perks.
Then Saturday comes, and the show gets shut down at 11:00 am.
Wow, what a shocker, who thought anyone could make Flanvention look good...
ETA: Over at the Omega Sector we have a little comment by Virogen about how Tim Brazeal has been pulling crap like this for a while now...

ETA III Trek United is starting to worry about it's future due to Tim Brazeal being the owner of the site. Amazingly there are people taht still want to believe in Tim.
ETA IV: Oh, Scott Merrit points out in the Con News comments this intersting tidbit about the downed forums:
As of this afternoon the Forums over at the FedConUSA site have been shut down. I find it suspicious that this occurred less than an hour after I posted the contact information for the Texas Attorney General’s Office with encouragement for fans who feel that they were ripped off to contact them.

wank_report.Ponystars.com is an online game for a pony raising connected to Acclaim Games, Inc. All is not fine in this land of happy pony love though. It begins with this thread. On June 9th doulanurse creates a thread saying she believes it is impossible for people to have the kind of ponies they have in their account without knowing or paying someone at Acclaim to get them. Methony confronts her about her accusations in this thread and doulanurse pulls the cancer card on her. The thread dies off quickly though and the argument seems to have ended.
Then a few days later doulanurse makes another thread, this time about her being unhappy with people owning multiple accounts, which she sees as cheating. She makes a post in the forums about this, Methony, as an example, based only on the fact her account is less than a month old.
Of course quickly there are users accusing doulanurse of using Methony as an example because of a grudge against her. doulanurse insists that using Methony as an example is not because of a grudge and everyone just needs to get back on topic, whether or not having multiple accounts are cheating. In fact she quotes herself several times whenever any conversation that deviates from the topic shows up to trey to get people to discuss the topic she wants discussed, but for the most part she is ignored.
As other members of the board come in to refute her, doulanurse responds by telling everyone that:

Neither side seems to want to let go of this issue and the actual topic seems to be lost within finger pointing from both sides on whether or not doulanurse posted this in a grudge against Methony.

09:10am - The Wank Overload continuesI think that this has blown up enough to wear the big boy pants now.
In her ongoing quest to cause commentroversy, Meg at Cute Overload posted a particularly racky (and ancient) Cats N' Racks. Calls of "gross" and "hideous" and "tasteless" hit almost immediately, answered just as quickly with some fairly impassioned and/or overwrought comments defending it.
( I'm sensing some hostility on the part of a few of the commenters. )
